About the event

An exciting opportunity to get up-to-date, evidence-based and realistic infant feeding information from International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), Clare Watson.

The course is split into 4 (60-90min) sessions and, though you are welcome to attend any one individual session, we would strongly recommend booking the course as an entirety.

In Week 1 we talked about the science behind breasts and making milk, the role of oxytocin in child development and how other members of the family fit into the picture.

Week 2 is all about the early days. We're going to be looking at hand expressing, how to get off to a good start and what to do if things don't go exactly according to plan.

These classes are designed to be able to be accessed in any order so if you are joining us for the first time, don't worry! We will hopefully be running them as a loop after this pilot series so you will be able to catch up with anything you missed.

The price covers admission for you and up to 2 supporters as having a strong team around you can make a real difference. A pack of course materials and complimentary access to the online Natural Breastfeeding course is included for those booking all 4 sessions. Refreshments will be provided.

Week 1 (2nd May) - Making Milk and Mammals: How we make milk, how to maximise it, what are breastmilk and colostrum, role of oxytocin in brain development, responsive feeding and parenting, the role of the other parent and supporters.
