About the event
Our Nutrition and Nurture antenatal workshop covers more than just breastfeeding, we help make sense a of newborn's natural behaviours so you feel fully prepared.
We cover a wide variety of topics including:
Nutrition and Nurture Basics: Explore what breast milk is, how it is made and what makes it so perfect for you and your baby. We also discuss normal infant behaviour so you know what to expect and feel confident that you are supporting your baby's brain development.
Getting off to a Good Start: How to establish a good milk supply and help your baby to get the milk effectively. What to expect in the first few days and how to use your baby's natural instincts to make feeding easier.
Maintenance: The role of partners, family and friends. What to expect as your baby grows. Expressing and storing breastmilk.
Trouble Shooting: How to avoid, spot, and deal with some of the breastfeeding barriers and issues that parents may experience. Coping strategies for dealing with a newborn.
Groups are kept small and the workshop interactive so that everyone gets a chance to have all their questions answered.
